Recovery of the deceased person

To report a death and have the deceased person transported to our premises, simply call 514-727-2847 or 1-888-727-2847. These numbers and the transportation service are in operation 24 hours a day, every day of the year and throughout Quebec. Transportation costs may be added to the price of the package if the location to be reached is more than 50 km from Montréal. While waiting for the two stretcher bearers to arrive, you don’t need to prepare anything (such as clothes or other articles) for the body.

Comprehensive thanatopraxy services

These services include all the care provided to present the body of the deceased in a safe and aesthetic manner when it is displayed in a funeral parlour or at a ceremony. This includes embalming, hairstyling, makeup, etc.

Choice of coffins *

Magnus Poirier offers a wide range of coffins (not included in the package price) in several colour variations to suit all needs, preferences and budgets. These coffins can be made of wood, metal or steel.

• Wood: pine, oak, elm, cherry, mahogany or ash, etc.
• Metal or steel: simple metal, copper, bronze, etc.

Reception and display in one of our parlours

This package includes the display of your loved one’s body in one of our funeral parlours that can accommodate the number of visitors you expect. You choose the number of days the body is displayed and the visitation schedule. Hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages are also included.

Restrictions in times of social distancing

Funeral car

You can choose one of the following vehicles included in the package: standard hearse, sedan (flower car) or limousine. The services of the driver, who will be wearing a Magnus Poirier uniform, are also included. The vehicle will be used to transport the body of the deceased in a coffin from the funeral home to the place of worship and the cemetery.

Pallbearers

This package includes six to eight pallbearers (depending on the weight of the filled coffin) in Magnus Poirier uniforms.

Funeral direction

A funeral director will coordinate all funeral activities, staff (pallbearers, funeral car driver, etc.) and travel (funeral car to the church, if applicable, and passing in front of the deceased’s home, if requested by the family). Finally, they will be present at the cemetery for the burial or placing in a crypt of the coffin.
